Matthias, better known as the Black Knight, was Mausinger's second-in-command.
Little is known about his backstory though in the The Lair of the Lost Lord DLC he is said to have taken on Mausinger's hatred, and was loyal and faithful.
He is the powerful enforcer for Mausinger. He hunts down the party during the beginning of the game but is defeated by Nella after she sacrifices herself, and Roland shoots him in the eye.
In the Lost Lord DLC he is revived by the dark wraith energy, missing an eye. He defeated an expedition force sent to investigate, requiring the party to defeat him once more. Though in the process the Ding Dong Martial Methods are learned, he is then swiftly defeated once more.
Powers and Abilities[]
He is cloaked in some strange dark energy that is never quite explained. He can then transform into a large four-legged monster.
In the Lost Lord DLC he becomes even more powerful, having access to a special field. Requiring Ding Dong Martial Methods to defeat him. Also, in the DLC it is somewhat hinted that his abilities may be linked to hate and darkness, and that he may have fed off of Mausinger's to grow in power.
