Doloran (ハムナル・ナハル・デルグナ, Hamunaru Naharu Deruguna^?, "Hamunar Nahar Delguna") is a character and main antagonist in Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. Doloran wants to capture every major nation's kingmaker in an attempt to revive The Horned One and capture everyone's soul to restore his kingdom that was destroyed, he aims to become the Ultimate King.

Story

Doloran's father was a very ambitious king who couldn't accept things for what they were, however Doloran himself was very different when he became the king of Allegoria, a city that was destroyed years prior to the beginning of the game. Doloran, with the use of the Kingsbond that each nation's leader held, attempted to revive The Horned One and capture everyone's soul to restore Allegoria.

When you about to fight him, Doloran reveals he is actually Roland's link in the current world and any damage inflicted on either one will affect the other. After Doloran is defeated, he tells the story of his life as King of Allegoria. He came to power when he was young, and as a result, became conceited and arrogant. He fell in love with his Kingsmaker, Alisandra, which is an offense against the will of the gods. As a punishment, Alisandra was cursed to spend the rest of her days in a guise known as The Horned One and all of Allegoria was sent into another dimension. Doloran hoped to acquire all the Kingsbonds in order to reawaken Alisandra. Doloran mentions that if his realm is restored, Roland's might be, too. After declining his offer, Doloran becomes overcome with darkness and forces the restoration of Alisandra. The restoration turns sour as the dragon-like manifestation of The Horned One tears a rift in the sky.

After Evan and company defeat The Horned One, Alisandra returns to her human form, and explains to Doloran that she was the one who kept The Horned One concealed all these years, revealing that it was born from her own power of the Kingmaker she had forsaken for the sake of their love and that was the true offense the gods had punished her for. She also mentions that it's a good thing that Doloran was the one who unleashed him because now The Horned One can be defeated and sealed away permanently. Although she still loves him, they cannot be together, and Allegoria cannot be saved. Doloran is crushed by this, however, Evan suggests they build a new Allegoria, and Doloran happily agrees.

Trivia

• Doloran is an anagram of Roland with an extra "o" added in. In addition, if you take out the 'the' from his full title, Doloran the Arcane, it leads to an anagram of Roland Crane with an extra "o" for the first name and an extra "a" for the last.
