Strategy[]
The Red Dragon uses fire attacks, and since it is so large, you can swarm it with three familiars and do an MK-style beat down. Dragon Breath is a close-up all around attack. Fire Stream is a linear ray attack.
If you manage to inflict poison on the Red Dragon, you will activate a Chance! Use Poison Claws and Poison Fangs (Giant's Tooth and Baneflower alchemy mixture) to achieve this. If all else fails or you do not have any of these, Swaine's Rotshot is a reliable alternative with a 40% chance of success and will almost always be learned by the time the party reaches the Red Dragon unless the player avoided enemies like the flu.
