The Genie's Steps are the raised plateaus to the north and south of the Shimmering Sands.
Different populations of familiars are present depending on whether the plateau can be reached on foot from the lowlands. All the northern steps along with a small area on the southeastern end of the southwestern steps are inaccessible on foot making them high plateau habitat. The southeastern steps and the majority of the southwestern steps are low plateaus with slopes leading up them from the shimmering sands and the bayous.
