The Horned One is the final boss in Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom.

Explained by Alisandra after the Horned One’s defeat. Kingmakers are not a natural part of the world’s fauna. They are created once a willing soul sacrifices themselves to tame an enormous power. Alisandra in life willingly made this sacrifice so that the Horned One may be tamed and, in essence, imprisoned. If appears as though after this sacrifice, the newly created Kingmaker loses all recollection or perception of this fact.
Little appears to be known of the true origins of The Horned One, though the entity displays impressive desctructive prowess, able to create tears in the very fabric of the world. When Alisandra attempted to relinquish the power of the Kingmaker so she would be free to love and be with Doloran, The Horned One was freed into the world once more. According to a lost soul found in Capaneus’s Crypt, the resulting surge in power destroyed Nazcaä and created the giant rifts present in the ocean to this day.
